How to Live Healthily!

“Good health is above wealth” reads a famous proverb. The proverb infers that considering one’s health above anything else is important. It is necessary to prioritize your health above anything else. Healthy living is needed to keep any sickness away, to keep your body fit and to have a positive mental attitude. Staying healthy has a positive impact on your body as well as the mind. Having a healthy attitude has a lot of aspects to it. Right from eating healthy, taking care of your body, to getting your body exposed to physical activities. Here are some tips to maintain a healthy living!

Eat Right.

“The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don’t want, drink what you don’t like, and do what you would rather not” are the popular words by Mark Twain. Eating the right amount of proteins, carbs and vitamins matters. It is important to nourish your body with a balanced diet irrespective of whether you like the food or don’t. You simply consume the foods, as it keeps your body healthy. Now, what is a balanced diet? The balanced diet refers to the intake of the right amount of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and water. Carbohydrates should not exceed more than 50 grams. Cut back on all sugar items once your carbohydrate intake exceeds 50 grams. Drinking milk provides ample amount of proteins. Including eggs, fish and meat in your diet increase your protein intake. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to get the right nutrition. Broccoli, sprouts, greens, soya, tomatoes, cabbage, cucumber, cauliflower etc. are considered very healthy. Try to split your heavy three meals into five or six. This is a good way to improve your metabolism. This technique, in fact, slows down your metabolism. Eat plenty in the morning, enough at lunch and very little at night. Eating right and the right amount of physical activity are the most important aspects of health.

Good health and mental health are interrelated. A study finds that, when you work out, you sweat. Sweating kick starts your happy hormones. Thus, physical activity also improves your mental health other than keeping your body fit. Try to hit the gym at least 3-4 times a week. Do weight lifting or warm-ups. If building muscles are not what you want, try to engage in any physical activity for at least one hour every day. Go for some swimming, jogging, cycling, brisk walking, can be anything! Playing a sport like badminton or tennis also keeps your body moving. Gaining weight keeps your body lousy and unfit. Go for regular checkups and try to maintain the prescribed weight that is needed for your height. Keep your body weight in the correct proportion of your height.
